We're proud of our Trust Corporation status

A Trust Corporation is a status given to certain entities by statute. The origins of a Trust Corporation can be found in section 68 (18) of the Trustee Act 1925, which defines a Trust Corporation as 'the public trustee or a corporation either appointed by the court in any particular case to be a trustee, or entitled by rules made under subsection (3) of section 4 of the Public Trustee Act 1906, to act as custodian trustee’

Being a Trust Corporation means we must meet certain legal criteria, including:

  • Being constituted under UK or European Law;

  • Having a place of business in the UK which is registered with Companies House;

  • Our constitution must enable us to undertake Trust business in England and Wales;

  • Having issued share capital of at least £250,000 of which not less than £100,000 has been paid up in cash.

You're in safe hands

In addition, STEP members are required to keep up-to-date with the latest legal, technical and regulatory developments. Our team also consists of a CILEX qualified lawyer and ensures that we promote and secure professional standards of conduct throughout our organisation.

As members of the Institute of Professional Willwriters, we are able to offer advice to our clients on will writing and estate planning matters and we strictly adhere to their Code of Practice.

We are proud to be a member of The Association of Corporate Trustees (TACT), which was founded with the principal aim of fostering a high standard of corporate trustee service. It seeks to advance education in trust law and practice through information and instruction and as a member we are bound by the Code of Practice.
